CEDER is hosting two conferences this academic year:

  • CEDER Conference: February 15, 2010
    Critical Legal and Research Issues for Educators in South Texas

    The 2010 conference will be hosted by the College of Education's Department of Educational Administration and Research. CEU credits offered. New! click for the full program (pdf).

    Speaker Jim WalshKeynote speaker: Jim Walsh
    Texas education law expert Jim Walsh will deliver the keynote speech at the 2010 CEDER Conference. He has spent much of his career representing Texas public schools, and he has conducted training and education sessions for educators throughout Texas.

    He is the co-author of The Educator's Guide to Texas School Law and the author of The Common Sense Guide to Special Education Law. He is publisher and managing editor of the Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest, for which he writes the popular "Law Dawg" column. He is the author of a monthly newsletter on special education, This Just In..., the monthly "Walsh's Word" column in the IEP Team Trainer publication, and "Looking Back" in Texas School Business magazine. He serves on the Advisory Board for LRP Publications.

    All presenters accepted to the CEDER Conference have the opportunity to get their research published in the CEDER Yearbook, a peer-reviewed journal published by the College of Education at Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi.   • International Literacy Coaching Summit – April 15, 16, & 17, 2010
    Response to Intervention? Response to Instruction?

    The nation's only literacy coaching summit is returning for its second year with a new theme: Response to Intervention? Response to Instruction? This is one of the hottest topics in education today. The conference will provide a forum for discussion and scholarship among literacy coaches, classroom teachers, administrators, and special education personnel. All have sincere interests in this topic. This two-day conference (plus a one-day preconference workshop) will bring together experts and practitioners from local, regional, national, and international institutions.
