Education for a Changing WorldNovember 30 & December 1, 2007
The 2007 CEDER conference, held November 30 and December 1, was a huge success with 245 attendees and top-notch speakers. General Conference Chair Dr. Jack Cassidy said he was "thrilled with the caliber of the presentations," given by presenters representing various states and countries, as well as many parts of Texas.
On Friday, Paula Maddox Roalson and Aida Hurtado delivered luncheon and keynote addresses. The addresses were followed by a variety of institute presentations and roundtable discussions. The evening featured poster presentations, a wine and cheese reception, and exhibits.
The Saturday conference began with keynote speaker P. David Pearson delivering an address entitled "Does the Emperor Have Any Clothes: An Assessment of the Impact of No Child Left Behind after 2,527 Days as the Law of Land!" After this, conference goers visited their choices of exhibits, regular sessions, and roundtable discussions. Luncheon speaker Stephen Krashen concluded the day with his address, "Free Voluntary Reading: Still a Great Idea."

Education 2006: Supporting Student SuccessFebruary 17 & 18, 2006
Session and institute presenters hailed from thirteen universities and colleges, including five from the Texas A&M System. Also represented were three universities from the University of Texas system: specifically the campuses at Austin, San Antonio and El Paso. Presenters came from as far away as East Central Oklahoma University and Millersville University of Pennsylvania. In addition, ten school districts were represented, including the Education Service Center Region 2 and Brownsville ISD.
The majority of presenters were faculty and graduate students from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. A total of thirty-two faculty from just about every department in the College of Education presented, along with doctoral students from all three doctoral programs.
